About this ride

This is a guided full day of gravel in Mallorca: 72 km on pine-forest tracks and quiet farm roads east of the city, with about 1,050 m of climbing spread across the route rather than packed into one big ascent. The surface alternates between shaded forest tracks and calmer farm lanes, so the day has variety without ever turning technical.

It is the balanced option among our gravel rides. The Mallorca riverside gravel intro (34 km, easy) is gentler and shorter, while the Volcano gravel day (88 km, 1,600 m) asks for more experience and more legs. This loop sits between the two: long enough to feel like a proper day out, steady enough that riders with some fitness and a little off-road practice can enjoy it.

Expect a full day in the saddle, with a guide setting the pace and the route doing the work.

  • 72 km guided gravel day east of the city
  • About 1,050 m of climbing spread across the route
  • Pine-forest tracks linked by quiet farm roads
  • Moderate difficulty, a full day without extreme ascent

Who this gravel day suits

The difficulty is moderate, but the distance is not small. Seventy-two kilometres on loose surfaces takes longer than the same distance on tarmac, so you should be comfortable riding for most of a day.

It suits riders who have done a few longer rides and want to try or extend their gravel riding. You do not need technical skills beyond staying relaxed on loose ground. If you are new to gravel, the riverside intro is a better first step. If you want steeper and longer climbs, look at the Volcano gravel day.

The route and terrain

The ride runs east of the city and links pine-forest tracks with quiet farm roads. Forest sections give shade and a softer, more variable surface, with pine needles, compacted dirt and some looser stretches. The farm roads let the group ride together and recover between climbs.

About 1,050 m of ascent over 72 km averages out to a modest gradient overall. The climbing comes in several steady efforts across the day, not one long test, which is what keeps the ride balanced.

How it compares with other tours

Against the Mallorca big climb morning (62 km, hard, half day), this ride is slower and more scenic, with less ascent per hour. Against the Costa Brava coast road ride (118 km), it is shorter and off-road, so the effort comes from the surface as much as the distance.

Choose it if you want one full day of varied riding without extreme climbing, and you like forest tracks more than tarmac and traffic.

Best time to go

Shade from the pines helps in warmer months, but a full day on the bike still means plenty of water and sun protection. Spring and autumn usually bring the most comfortable temperatures for 72 km of riding. After heavy rain, forest tracks can be softer and slower, so check with the partner on conditions when booking.
